You see, Phoenix Arizona is just too big to think about getting around via any other way but by car, truck, or van.

* The bus system here leaves quite a bit to be desired. Trust me on this.
* We don't have a light rail transit system (yet).
* No subway.

You see, Phoenix Arionza is set up as a place that can be fairly easily navigated. With the exception of the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix and Sun City (which both have curving, circuitous roads) - all of the Phoenix Arizona streets are laid out as a grid system.

All the main roads are one mile apart and go in both north/south and east/west direction. So if you look at a map of Phoenix you'd see that it's about 500 little squares of streets and roads.

Now it is easy to get around these streets with such a simple system as this.

But it just gets quite difficult, even for me still at times, when you want to find an address that isn't on one of these one-mile major roads. That's where and when you need those Phoenix Arizona maps to guide you.

You see, you can travel from the north end of Phoenix all the way over to the east end of Mesa Arizona and do this all by highway and you would be traveling over 85 miles. All on the freeway.

That's BIG.

But just remember that for them to be useful to you down here in the big city, any Phoenix Arizona maps you use should (MUST?) show this type of stuff.
